This song was initially released at Kamau Blues, however as a consequence of the very lush and engaging sounds we have decided to change its name to Blades Of Grass. Very lush, very detailed guitar sounds each with a slightly different tone and each playing a slightly different melody but all compliment each other to create a very sweet very melodic overall sound.. With this track we visualise places like the Etosha and Serengeti National Parks, so full of wildlife. The Thomson's gazelles, Springboks, Wildebeests, Zebras and of course the very majestic Lions, Cheetahs and Leopards etc. We really like this track and we trust that you will get as much enjoyment and relaxation from it as we always do.

A very mysterious, very different sound. Dark but hopeful. Features some very unusual instruments e.g. the aboriginal didgeridoo which is reputed to be created over two thousand (2000) years ago. The setting is in a rainforest and the medicine man is chanting for rain. You need to have this track.

The word 'Nakupenda' is from the Swahili language and it means 'I love you'. 'Nakupenda sana' means I love you very much. This song was written as a love-song and hence this name was chosen. We believe the song, while being an instrumental, still conveys what we choose to call 'the love vibe' quite fully, to all who listens to it.

This in our opinion can be substantiated by the large percentage of female fans who choose to 'like' this song on Jango Radio. The records shows that most of our female fans chose to become fans of Akua Kamau after listening to this song,.

This is a love song written to celebrate love and life. It has a distinct 'island vibe' as a consequence of the strumming patterns used on the rhythm guitars as well as the actual tones of the steel guitars. The wah guitar leads, fills the gaps and provides an enchanting and engaging feel right throughout this song The sea birds and beach waves also add to the ambience. This song took us about four months to complete as there was a specific sound and texture for which we were searching and it took us that amount of time to find it. Light, breezy and very melodic indeed. Listen to this with your love one(s) and it will take you right to the Caribbean. ENJOY!!!

Cries Of The Ancestors - SINGLE

This song was initially released as Ancestral Blues and is a song that I wrote for Black History month 2013. This is indeed a very sad song and I used the guitar wails to simulate the cries of our ancestors as they toiled in the hot sun, wind and rain under the merciless gaze and whips of the overseers. Many families were torn apart by the slave trade and diligent attempts were made to completely obliterate our history however, quite mercifully not all attempts have been successful. There is now even some amount of attempt to have us believe that ALL persons taken from their homeland in Africa, were sold into slavery by other Africans. While we cannot absolutely deny that this may have happened to a very minute extent, it is quite incredible that ALL Africans taken as slaves were sold by other Africans. Incredible indeed. As stated earlier this is a very sad and mournful song especially when one considers what it is intended to portray.

A very jazzy, bluessy cross-over mix. Written to celebrate life (symbolized by the Dunn's River Falls, Jamaica). A very lazy, 'feeling-to-relax' mood. Sweeeet.

Beautiful spiritual Spoken Word piece in which Akua Kamau speaks to the Ancestors, the land, the animals as well as departed Afrikan sons and daughters. A must have if you are in Ethnic Fusion
