Alkebulan Land Of Origins

Akua KamauFor those friends who may be unaware, Alkebulan is said to be an Arabic name which means "Land Of The Blacks". It is the  name used by the Moors, Nubians, Numidians, Khart-Haddans (Carthagenians), and Ethiopians. 'Africa', the current name adopted by almost everyone today, was given to the continent by a European invader by the name of Louis Africanus. Like all methods of manipulation, the Romans sought to completely disconnect the indigenous people of Alkebulan from their culture, deities, and knowledge. Today there is an increasing number of persons who prefer to use the name Afrika (i.e. as compared to Africa) as a show of defiance to the renaming of our Ancestral homeland by those whose motive was specifically to dominate, discredit, pillage and plunder.

This song is meant to be a tribute to our Ancestors who lived in a period long before Louis Africanus was even born. We are going back into the extremely distant past, to those Ancestors who lived even before time was officially began to be recorded. This song is for them. We are speaking about those who were the original humankind. The absolute first set of people who walked on this Sacred place we now call Earth. I want them to know that they are loved and respected even until this day and moreso, that they will be loved into infinity. These are the Ancestors to whom this song is dedicated. How does the hyenas connect with all this? I have to admit that I am unable to answer that question. I am simply the messenger. The inspiration comes to me, I compose and deliver. All I can say is I am sincerely hoping that these very Ancient Ancestors do appreciate it.
